The University Network of the European Capitals of Culture ( UNeECC) has the pleasure to announce you the IV. UNeECC General Assembly and Conference held on 14-15 October, 2010 in Pécs , Hungary one of this years European Capital of Culture.
This year we organize a Joint Conference of UNeECC and the Compostela Group of Universities. Attached please find the Call for Papers for the Conference.
In this European Year of 'Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion' the central theme of this years UNeECC Conference will be 'Inclusion through Education and Culture'.
The conference focuses on the following major themes that are of interest to both networks:
- Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion
- The Assessment of the European Capitals of Culture Programme
- The European Capitals of Culture Programme and the Combat against Poverty and Social Exclusion
We welcome a variety of scholarly papers that address any of these themes. We very much encourage professors, teachers, researchers, young scholars and junior faculty to participate. We also invite representatives of cultural organizations and colleagues from local city/regional administration, particularly those responsible for organizing their cities European Capital of Culture programme, to present papers /ideas/projects too.
The deadline for submitting the Abstracts is 1 April, 2010.
