istance education and e-learning is a modern program of academic training, addressing different categories of consumers interested in academic training and permanent professional improvement or professional re-conversion.

Methodologically, distance education and e-learning is a concept that requires an approach different from the classical one of education and studying. It involves the efficient turning to good account of different channels of communication available to each student (mail, teleTel, fax, radio, TV).

“Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu has promoted and developed this new higher-education program since 1998. A considerable experience has been acquired both at an institutional level and with regard to those directly involved in it (teaching staff, secretaries). The students enrolled in the distance education programs benefit from modern facilities, a fact that accounts for the high quality of their education and training.

There is no difference whatsoever between the students enrolled in distance learning programs and those enrolled in classical programs of study as far as the educational process is concerned. They all benefit from the same rights and have the same professional obligations.
